We know that everyone is worthy of a quality life.
A better tomorrow
starts today.
Founded in 2019 under the vision of Rev. Dr. Robert L. Jeffrey, Sr., Pastor of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church, the mission of the New Hope Community Development Institute is to empower, enable, and support community members in their efforts to revitalize the Central District’s neighborhood and surrounding areas. NHCDI serves as a vehicle through which residents and businesses work together to solve problems as well as rebuild and sustain community.
NHCDI is a Black-led, community-centered organization that aims to strengthen community well-being in Seattle’s Central District and surrounding areas.
NHCDI exists to support the vibrancy of the Central District by offering three areas of engagement: 1) Affordable housing as well as resident return and retention options, including paths to home ownership; 2) Black-owned business development as well as Black wealth-building and financial sustainability paths, 3) Educational and training opportunities as well as various community services. We are in the business of building hope and a better future in Seattle’s Central District and beyond.
